Synaco are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Belt Picker to join our steel recycling team. The ideal candidate should have a strong work ethic and be committed to safety and environmental sustainability. This role involves manual labor, forklift operation, and sorting of recycled metal. This position will be working dayshift Monday to Friday full time hours.

This steel recycling plant is looking for keen belt pickers to start asap on a day shift, preferably with a forklift ticket but is not essential. Otherwise the site is also looking for a cleaner on the afternoon shift.

Responsibilities

• Operate a forklift to transport materials within the facility
• Sort and pick out scrap metal from the conveyor belt
• Ensure the safe handling and movement of metal materials
• Perform general warehouse cleaning and maintenance tasks
• Adhere to safety procedures and protocols at all times

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator's license
• Physical ability to lift heavy materials and work in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in a manual production role, preferably in a recycling or manufacturing setting
• Knowledge of different types of metals and their properties is a plus
• Commitment to workplace safety and environmental sustainability
• Ability to work full time hours weekly on an ongoing basis, therefore NO restrictions to working rights in Australia

Day-to-Day

• Operate forklift to transport metal materials as needed
• Sort and separate different types of metal efficiently (training to be provided)
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment
• Collaborate with team members to achieve daily production goals
• Adhere to safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a secure working environment
