Originating decades ago, they are leaders in the field of floor and timber finishing products, with everything from tools, machinery, flooring, adhesives, primer stains, and specialised sandpaper. With a customer base that dates back years, it is a place that people call home when they come into source and obtain all the trade products they need.
With two success stores in operation, this role will be located at their flagship store in Thomastown and you will receive all necessary on the job training, including forklift licence and other associated credentials.
Short Summary
The primary purpose of this role is 'face to face” customer service, processing orders, providing technical advice to customers, quoting, and all necessary admin.
Responsibilities
Reporting to the store owner, this is an interesting dual role with an emphasis on trade counter sales and customer service. You will also have the opportunity to go out on the road at times and visit larger customers taking out orders and demonstrating new products.
The successful candidate will ideally have worked in a trade and/or the hardware industry, however, this is not essential. A hard-working growth mindset is the most important thing.
Service both retail & trade customers with professionalism at all times.
Participate actively in sales meetings with an aim to increase sales across both of their sites.
Setup a cycle of trade nights at alternate locations.
Following up customer enquiries/lapsed customers/new customers over the phone and online.
All inward goods must be counted, verified and entered the system.
Oversee invoicing for specified accounts
Ensure that all data in MYOB (quotes, orders and invoices) are accurate.
Complete a cyclic stock take once a week.
Opportunity for dual role of Account management – going out on site to see Enterprise Accounts, take large orders, and demonstrate new products.

Ability to retain product knowledge and relay this knowledge to customers
Comfortable meeting customers face to face as you go out on visits.
Organised with a high priority on punctuality
You must be able to work with minimal supervision, have an eye for detail, have the capacity to meet deadlines and follow tasks to completion.
Must have a current driver's license

An immediate start is available for this role and a generous salary will be negotiated with the successful candidate (with commission opportunity for new business bought on). If you are seeking a varied role with a highly successful company, then you need to explore this opportunity.
With a team of two on the shop floor at both times, you will have camaraderie and support.
Hours of work are Monday to Friday (either 7 am-3 pm or 9am -5 pm) with the requirement to work 2 Saturdays a month from 8.30 am – 1 pm.
This supportive and successful business is really looking for someone who wants to becomes an expert in this field. You will obtain your forklift license and get an insight into training for an Account Manager type position.
