Key Responsibilities (as per ANZSCO 142111 – Retail Manager)
Planning and Organising: Develop and implement operational strategies, business plans, and marketing initiatives to achieve sales and profitability targets.
Stock Control & Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, oversee ordering, and manage supplier relationships to ensure adequate inventory without overstocking.
Sales & Customer Service Management: Maintain high customer service standards, resolve complaints, and ensure a positive shopping experience for customers.
Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate staff performance while ensuring compliance with workplace policies and procedures.
Financial & Budget Management: Prepare budgets, track expenses, monitor revenue, and ensure financial targets are met.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards, including fuel handling and environmental guidelines.
Merchandising & Promotions: Plan and oversee promotional activities, sales strategies, and visual merchandising to enhance product appeal and increase sales.
Business Performance Analysis: Monitor store performance, analyse sales data, and implement measures to improve efficiency and profitability.
Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum 5+ years of relevant experience in retail management, preferably within the fuel station or convenience store industry.
Relevant qualifications in business management, retail operations, or a related field.
