About the opportunity:

Position: Clinical Director - Cardiology

Vacancy: Fixed term temporary full-time or part-time, up to three years
(Please note, a permanent substantive position as a Staff Specialist Cardiologist may be negotiable for the successful candidate)

Location: Townsville University Hospital

The role of the Director of Cardiology is to provide high quality clinical and non-clinical services to benefit the patients / clients of the THHS. This includes research as well as teaching the health professionals of the future.

Enjoy a generous remuneration package value up to $536,916 p.a. comprising:

  • Salary range: $8062.00 to $10,221.70 p.f. or $100.78 to $127.77 p.h. (L18 - L27) + Clinical Managers Allowance
  • Annual leave with 17.5% loading
  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation
  • Plus Salary Sacrificing options may be available

Requirements:

  • MBBS or equivalent qualification
  • Fellowship of the Royal Australiasian College of Physicians (or equivilant qualifications)
  • Electrophysiology and pacing training consistent with Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand guidelines AND/OR Advanced clinical experience in Cardiology, expertise in echocardiography including transthoracic echo, Transesophageal echo, Stress echocardiography and 3D Echocardiography.
  • All applicants must be awarded SoCP by the THHS Credentialing and SoCP committee..
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Probation period may apply.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted including criminal history clearance.
