We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated Part-Time Truck Driver. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our delivery vehicle while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and upkeep.
Job Description: As a Part-Time Truck Driver, you will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness, upkeep, and basic maintenance of our truck and. Your primary duties will include
Key Responsibilities:
· Truck Driving: Safely and efficiently operate company truck for deliveries and pickups as required, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies. Please note it will be the truck driver’s responsibility to be sure of his routes for height and width restrictions.
· Customer Liaison: Utilize your personal phone to communicate with customers regarding delivery schedules, updates, and any other necessary information, ensuring exceptional customer service at all times.
· Truck Cleaning and Upkeep: Regularly clean the interior and exterior of trucks to maintain cleanliness standards. This includes removing debris, washing, and sanitizing surfaces as needed.
· Basic Maintenance: Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as checking fluid levels, tire pressure, and performing minor repairs or adjustments as requested by the maintenance team or supervisor.
· Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of truck cleanliness, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered during operation. Report any maintenance or safety concerns promptly to the appropriate supervisor.
· Truck Safety: all actions not only limited to truck driving but unloading and loading as well.
Requirements:
· Valid MR Driver’s Licence
· High Risk Work Licence-forklift
· Previous experience in truck driving preferred.
· Ability to communicate effectively with customers and team members.
· Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance principles.
· Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
· Availability to work flexible hours, and potentially overnight trips.
· Reliable personal phone for communication purposes.
Other Notes
· $40.00 Per hour, contract work or employed. If contract, the applicant must be registered for GST
· 2-4 days per week. This is flexible.
· Local area deliveries, within 150km radius of Griffith
· Loads consist of Poly Tanks and farm equipment.
· Applicant must be reasonably fit and healthy.
· Also must have phone for customer contact and have experience driving in the rural areas and dirt roads.
· MR Licence required as minimum
