Did you know that federal election jobs are available outside of election day?

The Australian Electoral Commission (AEC) is hiring people to work for up to 2 weeks in remote service delivery teams during late April/mid May leading up to election day on 3 May.

Remote Services Delivery Teams take voting services to people living in remote communities across Australia.

These teams deliver voting services by travelling to remote communities in the weeks before and on election day, and complete other logistical activities after voting day. Each team is usually made up of 4 people, including a Team Leader.

To work in one of these teams you need to:
• be able to travel to and work in remote communities, such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and isolated towns
• be comfortable travelling in different types of transport, such as 4-wheel drive vehicles, light aircraft, helicopters, small boats or barges
• be flexible, adaptable and resilient
• communicate clearly with people from all walks of life
• have an eye for detail
• have good organisational and management skills (for Team Leader jobs)
• be able to drive a 4-wheel drive in various conditions including off road, wet weather and hot conditions
• meet facility entry requirements, which may include proof of COVID-19 and influenza vaccinations.

People with 4WD drive certification are encouraged to apply.

A Working with Children Check/Working with Vulnerable People Check may be required for the role.

No prior electoral experience is required, and you get on-the-job support as part of the team delivering world-class electoral services in Australia.
