About the Role
We're looking for someone with solid civil construction experience who's ready to take the lead. This is your chance to step up, supervise a dedicated team, and play a key role in delivering quality infrastructure for the community.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the Crew: Supervise and coordinate teams working on road and drainage maintenance projects.
- Deliver Results: Monitor team performance to ensure high-quality outcomes.
- Embrace Technology: Utilise modern systems for communication and data recording.
- Prioritise Safety: Promote and enforce Workplace Health and Safety regulations.
- Stay Hands-On: Provide technical guidance and work alongside your team.
- Manage Traffic: Oversee traffic control activities on site.
- Support Development: Schedule and support on-the-job training for team members.
We're after a motivated leader with civil construction experience, ready to step up and support our crew. You'll need:
- Certificate III in Civil Construction (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- White Card (General Construction Safety)
- QLD "C" Class Driver's Licence (or equivalent)
- Traffic Management Implementation (TMI) (or willingness to obtain within 6 months)
- Experience leading small to medium-sized teams
- Background in road and drainage construction/maintenance
- HR licence or plant operator tickets (desirable)
- Ability to operate plant/heavy vehicles (desirable)
- Skills in concrete formwork, placement, and finishing (desirable)
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Good communicator and team player
- Proficient with survey equipment, interpreting plans, and using digital systems (e.g. Asset Management software and Microsoft Office)
- Willingness to work overtime and operate various construction machinery
- A commitment to maintaining a safe and compliant worksite
Additional Requirements
- Availability for Overtime: Willing to work outside normal hours when needed.
- Commitment to Safety: Passion for maintaining a safe and compliant worksite.
- Equipment Operation: Capable of operating various construction machinery when required.
