Are you an experienced Data Scientist with a passion for large-scale ICT Data filled Systems and able to future vison, Develop an Application Team around Analytics and Data Products and Processes, then Deliver cutting-edge AI/ML Software solutions?

Our client is a key State government department looking to onboard an experienced and skilled motivated Data Scientist / Data Analytics professional. Our client plays a pivotal role in advancing the ongoing future of Victoria’s Departmental and State Agencies through improved Science, Technology and Innovation.

This is an opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team, providing critical enabling services to both the department and Australian businesses.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement Data Science Solutions aligned with business objectives.

Collaborate with Technical Teams to ensure Solutions adhere to governance and Security Frameworks.

Create and maintain Technical Documentation, including detailed Designs and Configuration guides.

Deliver Data Science Solutions using Microsoft Technologies, with a focus on Azure Machine Learning.

Apply critical thinking and problem-solving skills to address complex Data challenges.

Work effectively in Agile government Project Teams, ensuring seamless Integration and Delivery.

Key Skills and Experience:

Experience in Azure Machine Learning – including model Design, training, validation and Deployment.

Exposure to any MLOps expertise – managing ML lifecycle, including classification, regression, clustering and computer vision models.

Interest in, exposure to or Proficiency in AI/ML solutions – Developing Generative AI and NLP Applications using Azure OpenAI (GPT-4) and Open-Source LLMs.

Experience in Model Deployment – implementing online endpoints, inferencing APIs and working with Azure Blob Storage, Data Lake and Data Bricks.

Expertise in LLM prompt engineering – including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and factual grounding Techniques.

Azure Data Scientist Certification (highly desirable) – with strong Python Development Skills for Azure Cloud environments.
