A1 Hard Chrome is a small hard chroming factory located in Lidcombe, NSW. We are an experienced team of Ten looking for a skilled tradesman to join our team.
We are looking for someone with a fitter and turner background (minimum 3 years relevant experience) to join our team to operate our CNC cylindrical grinder machine. The person needs to have a willingness to learn, strong attention to detail good with programming on CNC and a basic understanding of working with machines. The core purpose of the role is operating cylindrical grinders, lathes and mills and to assist in the Hard chroming when needed.

Key duties and responsibilities of the role:
Operate cylindrical grinding machines (willing to train someone as needed)
Confident in programming CNC machines
Examine detailed drawings or specifications to find out job, material and equipment requirements
Set up and adjust metalworking machines and equipment
Operate machines to produce parts or tools by turning, boring, milling, planing, shaping, slotting, grinding or drilling metal stock or components
Dismantle faulty tools and assemblies and repair or replace defective parts
Check accuracy and quality of finished parts, tools or sub-assemblies
General maintenance and repairs of machines as required
Consult with management to resolve issues

Able to work as part of a team and lead the team as required
Able to work independently
Practical ability
Attention to detail
Strong English skills both written and verbal are required
Drivers licence
forklift licence
A trade qualification is beneficial but not essential to the role. Practical on-the-job experienced is preferred. It is desirable for successful candidates to have worked in the metal coating and electroplating industry previously but not necessary.
As a small family run business we encourage a level of work-life balance working 7am to 3.30pm Monday to Thursday and 6.30am to 12pm on Friday and will be required to work Saturdays. The managing director is friendly and flexible and looking for someone who is motivated to help grow the business and will reward hard work financially.
