ABOUT THE ROLE
As a Lead Educator & Responsible Person, you will take a leading role in creating and implementing engaging learning experience for children aged 0-5 years (Nursery to Kindergarten).
Float – All rooms – Lead Educator & Responsible Person (Diploma Qualified)
These are Permanent, full-time (Mon – Fri) opportunities.
Must be available for OPEN and CLOSING shifts.
Responsibilities:
Lead Educator
Lead the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of developmentally appropriate programs.
Foster a stimulating, safe, and interactive learning environment for children and families.
Record observations of individual children or groups for program planning purposes for qualified staff.
Set up, facilitate, and clean down after our play-based activities
Create a friendly, stimulating and interactive learning environment.
Provide a safe and welcoming environment for all children and families
Develop trusting and honest relationships with children, families, colleagues, management and community stakeholders.
Participate in ongoing professional development and team meetings.
Maintain compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
Responsible Person (non-contact)
Take charge of the service during designated non-contact RP hours, ensuring smooth daily operations.
Supervise and manage staff, ensuring a high standard of care and safety is maintained at all times.
Ensure compliance with regulations, policies, and procedures.
Act as the primary point of contact for staff, children, and families during RP hours.
Handle emergencies or incidents and ensure they are reported and managed appropriately.
Assist with administrative tasks as needed during your RP hours.
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will need:
Hold a recognised Early Childhood Education and Care qualification (Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education).
Evidence of completion of a recognised Child Protection unit as per current legislative requirements.
Hold or be willing to obtain Blue Card
Hold or be willing to obtain First Aid/CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma training
Previous experience in understanding the needs of children with additional needs
Knowledge and understanding of the EYLF, NQS, and Child Protection laws Knowledge, experience and a passion for working with children
Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
A genuine passion for working with young children and a commitment to their development and well-being
Ability to work as part of a collaborative team in a dynamic environment
Flexibility in relation to working hours
Experience with Childcare and Xplor and Playground would be highly regarded
