Osborne Richardson are delighted to be partnering with a great council in Sydney to offer a fantastic job opportunity as a Local Laws Ranger. This will be on a contract basis until the end of June, with huge potential to extend and even opportunities to become permanent.
As a Local Laws Ranger, every day will look different! The primary duties and responsibilities are:
Investigating breaches of development consent.
Investigating incidents of pollution, illegal advertising, abandoned vehicles.
Investigating unlawful use of public land and compliance or safety issues relating to construction sites.
Proactive and reactive patrols/inspections of roads, footpaths, parks and other public areas.
Assisting the Companion Animal Officers in Companion Animal related matters.
To be successful in this role, we ask that you have:
Knowledge of compliance and enforcement matters in a Local Government context.
Ability to read, understand, interpret, apply and/or enforce legislation, policies and guidelines
Ability to carry out tasks and processes, involving the collection of information from a variety of sources, for use in determining and applying a suitable course of action.
Well-developed interpersonal skills, including demonstrated conflict resolution, consultation, negotiation and customer service skills.
Well-developed written communication skills, including the ability to complete forms, maintain records and write detailed reports, in support of actions taken or recommendations made.
Proven ability to work unsupervised.
Capacity to work a rotating 7-day roster and participate in after-hours ‘on-call’ duties.
Ability to meet deadlines, to set and achieve realistic goals and establish work priorities.
Class C Driver’s Licence.
