About the role:

As the Fire Training & Operations Coordinator, you’ll work closely with the Fire Training and Operations Officer to develop and deliver top-tier firefighter training programs. Your role will be instrumental in strengthening fire management capability across the Corporation—helping to protect vital forest estates, property assets, cultural and environmental heritage, and the communities we serve.


We would love you to have/be:

Knowledge, understanding and experience in event/incident management and logistics - the detailed organisational and implementation of complex operations

Broad knowledge and understanding of fire management and operations equivalent to Crew Leader level or higher is desirable, or willing and able to obtain

A high level of oral and written communication skills, combined with general administrative skills

The ability to work effectively with operational staff of the organisation in a team environment

Well-developed people and stakeholder management skills, understanding of project management, time management, customer service and computer skills

Current National Qualifications as a fire fighter and recent experience in operational roles within a rural fire authority or other fire management agency

Small group facilitation/training experience, combines with Certificate IV Training and Assessment qualifications, or willingness and ability to obtain

Current Manual Vehicle Driver Licence

Medium Rigid Licence as well as tanker operator training (desired) or willing and able to obtain

Current First Aid certification, or willingness and ability to obtain

Willingness and capability to undertake front line fire and fuel management duties, firefighting, and extensive travel (mainly driving), work extended hours, and to maintain sufficient fitness for the job (e.g., able to efficiently conduct reconnaissance / investigation through difficult terrain and dense vegetation) if and when required as part of the role
