About the role
The Manager Youth Justice Training is responsible for the management, coordination and supervision of the Youth Justice Training Section within the Operational Training Branch.
The position manages a team of (up to) 10 staff in the delivery of training for youth justice employees, including the delivery of the Entry Level Training Program (ELTP) for newly appointed youth custodial officers, and the Youth Justice Foundation Training Program (YJFTP) for youth justice officers.
The position provides advice and assistance in training packages and competency-based training & assessment to youth justice training staff and contributes to ensuring the Registered Training Organisation (RTO) accreditation is maintained through adherence to standards and procedures.
We are looking for someone who:
Can assume a pivotal role in driving business and service delivery improvements and building a high-performing team focused on delivering quality training for within the corrections environment.
Possesses extensive experience working with youth offenders in custody or the community.
Is able to demonstrate significant experience in leading a team to successfully deliver a range of training programs and to monitor and evaluate these programs in a complex and highly regulated organisation.
Is an excellent communicator and possesses the capacity to network effectively to build and sustain relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to the agency.
