TARGETED VACANCY - This is designated as an Identified role - Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples based on the genuine occupational requirements, in accordance with section 25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, and the Recruitment and Selection (Directive 07/23).
As Program Support Officer (Identified), you will specifically:
• Demonstrate cultural capability and/or a commitment to developing cultural capability to ensure an inclusive culture that aligns with the Human Rights Act 2019 and supports departmental programs and community partnerships aimed at preserving cultural connections for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
• Consult with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities in relation to the development and maintenance of services, activities and programs for young people subject to youth justice orders, particularly Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander youths in detention, that facilitates their transition and reintegration into the community
• Facilitate communication between departmental service delivery and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities to ensure programs and services provided to Indigenous young people are culturally appropriate.
• Develop, deliver and assist in the provision of programs, activities, and services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander young people in detention.
• Assist and support case planning interventions and activities to ensure services and interventions are culturally appropriate.
• Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team in delivering programs and services to clients.
• Facilitate culturally significant events, in line with Queensland Reconciliation Action Plans
• Assist with the security and safety of the Centre by observance of operational procedures and standards as they impact on program delivery and the provision of other activities organised for young people.
• Provide high quality written reports, briefs, administrative duties and correspondence as required, using manual and computerised systems.
