About the Role

We are seeking a Technical Financial Crime Business Analyst with deep expertise in banking financial crime technologies and a strong understanding of financial crime compliance frameworks. This role requires a blend of technical knowledge, business analysis skills, and hands-on experience with various financial crime solutions, including AML/CTF, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, fraud detection, and KYC systems.

You will work closely with technology, risk, compliance, and data teams to support financial crime transformation initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance while optimizing operational effectiveness. A small data analytics component is included, so familiarity with data analysis, SQL, or reporting tools is a plus.

Key Responsibilities

Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to enhance and optimize financial crime systems

Gather, document, and translate business requirements into functional and technical specifications

Work with AML/CTF, sanctions screening, KYC, fraud detection, and transaction monitoring tools (e.g., Actimize, FircoSoft, NICE, FIS, FICO, Net Reveal, Quantexa or similar)

Support financial crime compliance projects, ensuring solutions align with regulatory and risk frameworks

Conduct data analysis to identify trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement

Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to drive system enhancements and integrations

Support the implementation of new financial crime detection and prevention technologies

Provide SME input into financial crime system upgrades, migrations, and enhancements

What We’re Looking For

Financial Crime Expertise – Strong understanding of AML/CTF, fraud prevention, sanctions, and regulatory compliance

Technical Acumen – Experience with financial crime technologies and their integration into banking systems

Data Skills – Ability to analyze data, write SQL queries, or use BI tools for insights (Power BI, Tableau, etc.)

Business Analysis Skills – Ability to elicit, document, and translate requirements for technology teams

Stakeholder Management – Strong communication skills to liaise with compliance, risk, IT, and external vendors

Agile/Project Experience – Comfortable working in Agile, Scrum, or similar project environments
