The Role
As the Nurse/ Midwife Management Coordinator you will be responsible for the day to day operational and personnel management of a Remote Primary Health Centre. Leading a small multidisciplinary health team and overseeing clinical governance and safe practice in all aspects of service delivery. You will also ensure that services are delivered cost effectively and culturally appropriately to meet the needs of clients and their families.
This role requires participation in a 24/7 Emergency on-call roster and there may be travel required to provide relief in other remote sites at short notice.
Who We’re Looking For
To be successful, applicants will:
Have extensive nursing experience, skills, and applied knowledge in the Aboriginal health context.
Possess a minimum of 2 years previous clinical experience in a remote setting.
Understand issues affecting Aboriginal health, principles of Primary Health Care and relevant legislation governing work practices in a remote health setting.
Hold current vaccination, remote emergency and maternity emergency certifications.
Have experience driving a manual vehicle, with eligibility to obtain an NT Drivers licence
Ability to travel via 4WD or light aircraft to remote communities in Central Australia.
