St Dominic’s College is currently seeking dynamic and passionate Casual Secondary Teachers to join our dedicated team. If successful, you will be employed on a day-to-day basis to replace temporary or permanent teachers who are on short-term leave, covering a range of subjects where a particular need arises in the College. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and effective lessons while maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and effective lessons in accordance with the College’s curriculum and teaching requirements.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student engagement and development.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively in line with the College’s policies.
  • Assessing and providing feedback on student progress as required.
  • Collaborating with colleagues and contributing to the broader school community where possible.

Essential Criteria:

To join our team of professional teaching staff, you must demonstrate the following:

  • A working understanding of, and strong commitment to, the Catholic ethos in an Edmund Rice School.
  • The ability to provide students with a positive learning environment, utilising strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • An understanding of the unique pastoral needs of young men.
  • High proficiency in ICT within a contemporary blended learning environment.
  • Well-developed interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with staff and students in enhancing the quality of learning.
  • A demonstrated understanding of appropriate behaviours and professional boundaries that reflect child safeguarding values in practice.
  • A qualified Secondary Teacher (please indicate subject areas) with NESA Accreditation and approval to teach in NSW.
  • Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner.
  • Experience in differentiation of curriculum.
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check number.

Employment Conditions:

Teachers at St Dominic’s College are employed under the NSW Catholic Independent Schools (Teachers – Model B) Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2023 and may attract higher levels of remuneration.
