About the Role
As a Youth Worker, you will deliver high-quality care and support to young people, fostering their development and community engagement. Your role includes leading interactions that promote positive relationships and goal-oriented activities, while also ensuring their emotional and social needs are met.

Our service is transitioning to an innovative 2 worker model operating 24/7 to support young people facing homelessness, including those with high and complex needs. Therefore, availability to work evening, nights and weekend shifts is needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical, emotional, and social care tailored to individual needs and case plans.
  • Engage young people in life skills development and supportive activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with families and external agencies for holistic support.
  • Participate in program planning and contribute insights from direct care experiences.
  • Foster a positive team environment through effective communication and peer support.

Qualifications, Credentials and Other Requirements

  • Minimum Cert IV or Diploma in Child, Youth & Family Intervention, Youth Work, Community Services, or similar field
  • Current Blue Card (Working with Children)
  • Current National Police Check
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate with CPR
  • Ability to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and public holidays

About You:

  • Proven experience engaging young people in purposeful activities.
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and child development.
  • Understanding of family dynamics and child protection principles.
  • Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team.
