Why Choose Early Bird?
Here's what our therapists have to say:
“I love working in a multidisciplinary team, everyone is so open to chatting and talking through client goals so you can always find so many creative ways to tackle any challenges and can lean on each other if you're feeling stuck.”
“I would choose Early Bird over other places because it is so true to the 'people over profit' idea, this goes for our beautiful clients and families as well as for us as individuals. The flexibility and support especially as a new practitioner is unmatched.”
“I love getting to work as a team with therapists who are great at what they do and are passionate about supporting the kids and families we work with.”
“Over worked and under resourced is the norm in the therapy world and at Early Bird we get to have the time and energy to be the best therapists we can be.”
-----
The team at Early Bird chooses to be here because we love what we do. We love to work collaboratively and share the highs and lows that come with working in our sector. We strongly value work/life balance, and our people will always be more important than profit.
We work on a ‘choose your own adventure’ approach to caseload and productivity. You will have the ability to tailor your caseload to suit your clinical interests and you are in control of your schedule so you can design your days to suit your preferences. Our amazing admin team and allied health assistants will lighten your load so that all you have to do is focus on the important things - the children and families that you're working with.
Your salary is negotiable based on your experience and you will also have access to regular clinical supervision and a generous professional development budget. We provide unlimited paid professional development days to allow you to continue learning as you work.
We have extremely modest billable targets, and financial bonuses are available if you wish to exceed those targets. You will never be pressured about reaching billable targets, or be made to feel bad if you don't reach any.
You will be provided with everything you need to work, including a laptop, ipad, and access to our extensive toy library. Our Fyshwick clinic is a welcoming and comfortable space, and even features a massage chair in our staff room.
About Early Bird Therapy
Early Bird Therapy provides a range Allied Health services for children aged 0-12 who have a developmental delay or disability. Our current services include: Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Neurodiversity Affirming Positive Behaviour Supports, Physiotherapy, Play Therapy, and Allied Health Assistants.
We work closely with families, our colleagues, and other organisations to deliver high-quality therapy services. We pride ourselves on providing child and family-centred care, and treating each child that we see as a valued individual.
We offer 1:1 and group therapy for children up to the age of 7, plus school holiday intensives and group programs for children aged 7-12. We offer appointments in our Fyshwick clinic as well as at client homes and educational settings.
We're open 8:30-5:00 Monday-Friday, however our work hours are flexible and capped at 38 hours for a full-time employee.
Speech Pathologist Role
We are looking for a passionate and caring Speech Pathologist to join our team. You will be based in our Fyshwick clinic, but also provide home and school visits as needed. There is also scope for completing administrative work from home if desired.
Your key role will be the provision of Speech Pathology services for young children. We’re keen to help you develop as a professional and will tailor your caseload to suit your interests and strengths as a clinician. Whether your passion is in language, speech, feeding, AAC, neurodiversity, literacy, or something else entirely, we will work to make sure you love working with all of your clients and learn something new every day.
The role will also include:
working closely with families and educators to improve child outcomes using family-centred, functional goals
running therapy groups
collaborating with other professionals
keeping accurate records
participating in professional development and supervision
Work hours/days and start date are negotiable, however we have a preference for candidates who are available more than two days per week.
While we strongly value experience, the most important quality we look for in our therapists is a desire to work collaboratively with children and their families. Clinicians in all stages of their career are welcome to apply.
