The French-Australian school in Melbourne is recruiting one French native speaking classroom teacher.
An opportunity has arisen at Caulfield Junior College for a Native French speaking classroom teacher P-6. This position is a full time (38 hours per week) two year contract commencing on the 21st July 2025.

We have opportunity for at teacher who has:
a French Teaching Diploma (CRPE_Master MEEF) and a minimum of 5 years' experience.
Is a French native speaker with advanced English language skills (C1 required on the CEFR scale)
Demonstrated capacity to work with colleagues to plan, deliver and evaluate a French/English Binational Program.
Demonstrated understanding of initiatives in student learning including the Standards, the Principles of Learning and Teaching P-6 and Assessment and Reporting Advice and the capacity to implement and evaluate learning and teaching programs in accordance with the Victorian curriculum.
Demonstrated high-level classroom teaching skills and the capacity to work with colleagues to continually improve teaching and learning.
Demonstrated ability to monitor and assess student learning data and to use this data to inform teaching for improved student learning.
Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills in both English and French, and high level interpersonal skills including the capacity to establish and maintain collaborative relationships with parents, other employees and the broader school community to focus on student learning, wellbeing and engagement.
Demonstrated behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values, including a commitment and capacity to actively contribute to and manage major curriculum or student activities and a commitment to continually improving teaching quality and capacity through the application of knowledge, skills and expertise derived from ongoing professional development and learning.
Demonstrated capacity to implement and/or support whole school programs or initiatives.

Candidates will need to have passed an academic IELTS with an overall score of 6.5 with not less than 6.0 in writing to obtain the VIT (Victorian Institute of Teaching) Permission to Teach (French diploma equivalent). This cannot be more than 2 year old at the time of application for the VIT.

We invite candidates who can demonstrate these skills to participate in the forum:
Significant ability to work within a French-Australian team to plan, teach and evaluate the French binational program. French teachers work in close collaboration with an Australian teacher and share their students and their planning.
Demonstrate an excellent level of communication in French (native speakers required).
Demonstrate a minimum C1 / CERCL level in English (certification will be required)
Ability to design tools to promote the development of the French language (skills and experience in French as a foreign language).
Ability to work from the Prep to grade 6.
