The Role
As a BSP, you’ll work closely with participants, families, and stakeholders to develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans that promote independence and well-being. Your role will focus on:
✅ Comprehensive Behavioural Support: Conduct functional assessments & develop tailored PBS plans aligned with best practices.
✅ Person-Centred Interventions: Reduce harmful behaviours & minimise restrictive practices using evidence-based strategies.
✅ Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with families, participants, and support teams to ensure holistic interventions.
✅ Compliance & Reporting: Ensure documentation complies with NDIS Commission guidelines and practice standards.

About You
We’re looking for Behaviour Support Practitioners (BSPs) with direct or strong transferrable skills in behavioural support and a deep understanding of the NDIS. You will have experience working with people with disabilities and, ideally, be registered as Core or Proficient NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioners.

Your background may include behaviour support, psychology, social work, disability, mental health, or other related fields. You’ll have the ability to conduct psychosocial and functional assessments, and develop effective Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans. Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential, as you will be building trust and collaborating with participants, families, and professionals.

A key part of your role will be applying your understanding of NDIS Behaviour Support and Restrictive Practices guidelines to ensure the best possible outcomes for participants. Your approach will prioritise ethical, evidence-based interventions that focus on the well-being and empowerment of each individual. This role requires community-based work across Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast, and the Hunter region.

Qualifications & Requirements
To join our team, you’ll need:

Relevant qualification in Behavioural Science, Social Work, Psychology, OT, or related field.

Registration (or willingness to obtain) as an NDIS Behaviour Support Practitioner (Core or above).

NDIS Worker Screening Check & NSW Working with Children Check.

NDIS Orientation Certificate & OCG Child Safe Training.
