Why This Role Matters

Fire ants pose a serious threat to agriculture, biodiversity, and communities across Southeast Queensland. As an Operations Officer, you will be on the ground conducting field assessments, measuring fire ant densities, and ensuring the success of aerial treatment operations.

Your Mission

Field Investigations - Undertake training in scientific methods to assess fire ant populations and measure treatment effectiveness.

Survey & Data Collection - Conduct rapid field assessments before and after aerial treatments to evaluate fire ant suppression efforts.

Scientific Accuracy - Utilize advanced techniques to track fire ant activity and maintain meticulous records for compliance and reporting.

Operational Support - Assist in delivering treatment products and equipment to landholders and aerial contractors as needed.

Stakeholder Engagement - Liaise with internal teams and external stakeholders to support quality assurance, data management, and treatment operations.

Problem-Solving in the Field - Work independently and use initiative to troubleshoot challenges in a fast-paced environment.

What You Bring to the Team

Mandatory Requirements

A current, unrestricted 'C' class driver's licence.

Full working rights in Australia (no limitations).

A National Police Clearance (dated within the last 12 months).

Highly Desirable

A forklift and/or order picker licence will be highly regarded.
