About the Role
Grey Ward Children’s Centre, a community-based early learning Centre in Adelaide, is seeking an experienced Diploma-qualified Early Childhood Educator to join our passionate and dedicated team. As an Early Childhood Educator, you will be pivotal in creating high-quality educational experiences for children aged 2.5 years and above, using Reggio Emilia-inspired principles to guide their learning and development.
In this role, you will:
Plan and implement developmentally appropriate educational programs that support the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth of children.
Observe and document children’s progress, identifying individual needs and adjusting activities and support accordingly.
Maintain a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that complies with all relevant regulations and standards.
Build strong relationships with children and their families, fostering open communication and actively involving parents in the learning process.
Collaborate with the team to share best practices, participate in professional development, and contribute to the continuous improvement of the Centre.
Perform general childcare duties, including feeding, nappy changing, and supervising children during indoor and outdoor activities.
What We're Looking For:
Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (or higher).
Experience working with children 2.5 years and older in a regulated childcare setting.
Interest or experience in Reggio Emilia-inspired approaches
Knowledge of child development, early learning frameworks, and best practices in early childhood education.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Passion for supporting the holistic development of young children and a commitment to providing high-quality care.
Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to respond to the changing needs of children and the Centre.
Current RRHAN-EC, First Aid and CPR, Food Safety and Keeping Safe Curriculum certifications, as well as a valid Working with Children Check (essential)
Ability to take on cooking or WHS tasks (desired)
