Davidson is working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced AO8 Finance Manager to lead and manage the Finance and Governance team. This role is crucial for coordinating business and administrative functions, including finance, budget, and assets, within the program.
About the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide authoritative advice and guidance on corporate governance matters, ensuring activities are conducted in accordance with whole-of-government and departmental policies. Reporting to the Director, Business Services, this role is responsible for planning, negotiating, managing, and evaluating the provision of finance and governance services.
The AO8 Finance Manager will develop and implement business-related policies, practices, and technologies that represent best practices and continuous improvement. This role is key to ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency while maintaining compliance with relevant statutory and departmental requirements.
- Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the Finance and Governance team to coordinate business and administrative functions, including finance, budget, and assets.
- Corporate Governance: Provide authoritative advice and guidance on corporate governance matters, including finance and asset management.
- Service Provision: Plan, negotiate, manage, and evaluate the provision of finance and governance services in collaboration with the Director, Business Services.
- Policy Development: Lead and manage the development and implementation of business-related policies, practices, and technologies.
- Collaboration: Develop collaborative relationships with other business units and external stakeholders to deliver Finance and Governance Services.
- Confidential Issues Management: Manage sensitive and confidential issues and undertake research and project management activities as requested.
- Executive Correspondence: Manage, draft, and quality assure finance and governance-related executive correspondence and briefing documents.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Establish and maintain effective relationships, networks, and partnerships across Government and other stakeholders.
About You
- Experience: Knowledge of SAP, Excel, Word, and government financial experience is essential. Knowledge of PowerBI is highly desirable.
- Skills: Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to provide authoritative advice on corporate governance matters.
- Collaboration: Proven ability to develop collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to manage sensitive and confidential issues effectively.
- Policy Development: Experience in developing and implementing business-related policies, practices, and technologies.
The Benefits
- $94.34 per hour + Super (PAYG)
- Located in Logan City
- Full-time hours, Monday to Friday
- 6-month Contract
