About RFF

RFF is committed to positively impacting Western Australia’s regions through sustainable development and economic growth initiatives. Specialising in land assembly, regional development, infrastructure projects, social programs, and supporting Aboriginal economic development, we work alongside a diverse range of clients and communities.

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Manager to lead the delivery of diverse and impactful projects. The successful candidate will have strong experience across the full project lifecycle—from scoping to final closeout—with a particular focus on stakeholder management, development planning, contract delivery and administration, risk mitigation, and reporting. This role requires someone who is highly organised, excels at problem-solving, and can work both independently and as part of a team.

The position is based in Perth (Northbridge), with travel to Karratha and other regional locations as required.

Types of Projects You’ll Work On

At RFF, we focus on projects that make a real difference to Western Australia’s regions. As Project Manager, you’ll work on a diverse portfolio that often includes:

Housing and Community Infrastructure – Supporting the planning and delivery of housing developments, accommodation facilities, and essential community infrastructure.

Land Development – Coordinating subdivision and infrastructure projects across urban, regional, and remote locations, including tenure resolution and planning approvals.

Renewable Energy and Microgrids – Managing approvals and stakeholder engagement for innovative clean energy projects, such as standalone power systems and community-based microgrids.

Aboriginal Economic Development Initiatives – Supporting Traditional Owner groups and Aboriginal-led organisations to realise development outcomes on Country.

These projects often involve partnerships with Aboriginal communities, government agencies, and private sector proponents, requiring a hands-on and culturally aware approach to delivery.

Your Key Responsibilities

Project Scoping & Planning: Lead the scoping and detailed planning of projects including project objectives, timelines, deliverables, and resourcing, including documentation of the project plan in a Project Management Plan.

Stakeholder Management: Identify, engage, and manage stakeholders through development and implementation of tailored engagement plans.

Risk Management: Develop risk registers and implement mitigation strategies to support successful project delivery.

Procurement & Contract Management: Coordinate procurement activities and manage contracts to ensure compliance, value for money, and quality outcomes.

Superintendency & Delivery Oversight: Provide superintendency services, ensuring contractors deliver to agreed terms and resolving any delivery issues.

Project Monitoring & Reporting: Monitor project progress, manage budgets and schedules / timelines, and produce regular progress reports and updates to stakeholders.

Project Close-Out: Conduct final reporting, facilitate lessons learned sessions, and ensure all documentation and approvals are finalised.

Technical and Professional Skills

Software Proficiency: High-level skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and MS Project (or similar project management software).

Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing reports, proposals, and briefings.

Organisation: Ability to manage multiple tasks, competing priorities, and tight deadlines.

Problem Solving: Proactive, solution-focused mindset with an ability to work through project challenges independently or with a team.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, Planning, Property Valuation, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum 5 years of experience in client-side project management with a demonstrated track record of delivering complex projects.

Experience in stakeholder engagement, project scoping, feasibility assessment, contract administration, superintendency services, and reporting

Knowledge of infrastructure, economic development, or social/community development projects is desirable.

Application Process

Please submit your resume along with your cover letter, responding to the following:

1. Stakeholder Engagement:
Describe your experience in identifying key stakeholders and developing and implementing stakeholder management plans. What strategies have you used to build and maintain strong relationships?

2. Project Scoping and Approvals:
Describe your experience in scoping projects and developing project plans. Have you been involved in managing or supporting planning or regulatory approval processes? Please share an example that highlights your role and approach.

3. Superintendency and Contract Administration:
Share an example of a project where you provided superintendency services or administered contracts. What challenges did you face, and how did you ensure compliance and quality delivery?

4. Project Delivery and Close-Out:
What is the largest or most complex project you’ve managed? Briefly describe your role, how you approached delivery, and any lessons learned during the project close-out phase.

We understand you may not have experience in every area. If you're enthusiastic and eager to grow, we still encourage you to apply.

Only shortlisted applicants will be contacted. Australian residents only; we will not be offering sponsorship for this position.
