Senior Engagement Advisor

Location: Hobart

Sustainable Timber Tasmania is a Tasmanian Government Business Enterprise responsible for managing approximately 812,000 hectares of public production forest. Our responsibility is twofold: to maintain and promote the health of Tasmania’s production forests and to supply high-quality timber to customers throughout Tasmania.

About the role:

We’re seeking an experienced Senior Engagement Advisor to join our team and play a key role in building and maintaining productive relationships with key stakeholders including government, industry, and local communities.

In this role, you’ll drive engagement efforts through clear communication, collaboration and fostering positive connections. You will address emerging issues and opportunities, while ensuring consistent and strong engagement across multiple platforms.

Key responsibilities include:

• Develop and execute stakeholder engagement and communications initiatives to support projects and campaigns.
• Act as a primary contact for stakeholder and government enquiries, ensuring timely and accurate responses.
• Build and maintain strong, productive partnerships with stakeholders across government, industry, and community groups.
• Create high-quality content, including government briefings, media releases, social media posts, and reports.
• Provide expert advice on stakeholder engagement and communications to the broader organisation.
• Develop and distribute communications for annual programs to keep stakeholders informed and engaged.

What we’re looking for:

• Extensive experience in stakeholder engagement, communications, or public relations.
• Proven ability to build and maintain meaningful relationships.
• Exceptional writing, editing, and communication skills.
• Ability to respond to emerging issues, adapt to changing priorities, and deliver high-quality results under pressure.
