About the Role
This is a newly created position, giving you the chance to design and drive Learning & Development within our business. As our Training & Development Specialist, you’ll be responsible for creating impactful face-to-face and online training, coordinating our apprenticeship program (24 apprentices), and collaborating with external training providers to ensure our workforce is continuously developing.
A key focus will be on building and managing our Learning Management System (LMS), where you will develop engaging training videos and e-learning content to support both internal and external learners. You will be strong with building relationships with our Technicians and have the ability to pick up on what is needed for the development and be able to build training around those needs.
You’ll report to the HR Manager, who is highly collaborative and supportive, providing you with the autonomy to shape this role and establish a strong L&D framework.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement structured training programs for technical and operational teams. Strong mechanical and blue collar knowledge is needed or the aptitude to pick it up.
Coordinate and support the apprenticeship program, ensuring structured learning and development.
Design engaging e-learning content, including training videos, to build and enhance the LMS.
Work with external training providers to deliver specialised learning programs.
Facilitate in-person and online training sessions.
Identify skill gaps and develop targeted training solutions.
Track and measure training effectiveness to drive continuous improvement.
About you!
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent – Essential
Proven experience in Training & Development, with a strong focus on course creation in the blue collar sector.
A technical background in automotive, machinery, or a related industry (advantageous).
Creative approach to e-learning, with experience in LMS platforms and video content creation.
Strong understanding of learning methodologies and instructional design.
Excellent facilitation and administration skills.
Ability to work independently and shape L&D into a key business function.
Have the ability to build strong relationships with people from all walks of life.
