Your role

Good dental health is critical to Air Force capability. As a Dentist you will be responsible for assessing, diagnosing and treating personnel and providing advice in respect to the maintenance of oral health.

You'll work with the latest equipment in modern clinics on base, with the support of fully-trained Dental Assistants. However from time to time you will be given the opportunity to travel, carrying out dentistry in the field on operations and exercises in Australia and overseas.

As an Air Force Officer you'll also be responsible for the training, welfare and discipline of the airmen and airwomen under your command who make up your staff. So this is a leadership role that could really stretch and reward you.

• Fully-paid officer training
• Once trained, starting package approx. $115,443 p.a. plus superannuation (salaries correct as of 16/01/2023)

• Training in VIC
• Initial posting to RAAF Base Amberley QLD, Williamtown NSW or Richmond NSW
• Then any one of the many other Air Force bases across Australia
• Potential for overseas postings

Entry Requirements

For this role, you must be at least 17 at the time of enlistment, and an Australian Citizen. If you are not an Australian Citizen you may still be eligible to join the ADF if you meet certain criteria, please visit the ADF Careers Eligibility Page for more details.
