Purpose:
To contribute to an effective records management system, ensuring Council's information and records are secure, appropriately maintained and comply with legislative requirements and standards such as:
- Public Records Act 2023
- Information Privacy Act 2009
- IS40 – Recordkeeping
- IS31 – Retention and Disposal of Public Records
Key Responsibilities:
- Information Management
- Right to Information (RTI)
- Archiving
- Customer Service Requests

Mandatory and Highly Desirable Qualifications and Licences:
To be successful you will need to demonstrate that you have the below mandatory requirements for the role:
Certificate III – Business Administration (or similar discipline); or attained through previous appointment, service and/or study, an equivalent level of expertise and experience to undertake the range of activities required
- Current C (Car) Class Driver License
Required Skills and Experience:
- Strong organisational and administrative skills, with the drive and ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Well-developed computer skills and strong ability to effectively use Council's record management system and other IT systems and programs.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information with professionalism, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Commitment to a team-based approach, with demonstrated ability to work cooperatively and autonomously within a team environment to achieve Council's goals and departmental work program projects and tasks.
- Ability to demonstrate a strong commitment to Maranoa Regional Council's values and team goals.
- Previous experience working in local government or similar environment will be highly regarded but is not essential.
Position Details:
- Position based in Roma, Qld
- Full-time, permanent position
- Maranoa Regional Council Certified Agreement 2023 - Stream A - Level 3-4
- Maranoa Locality Allowance - $72.00per fortnight
