About the role

Living Communities is seeking experienced Disability Support Workers to join our team in Brisbane. In particular if you live in Northern Brisbane suburbs including North Lakes, Redbank Plains, Logan, Ipswich and Bay areas including Cleveland. These are casual positions, offering flexible work hours to support individuals with disabilities, in particular LGBTQIA+ in our local community. As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital part in empowering our clients to lead independent and fulfilling lives.

What you'll be doing

• Providing personalised support to clients with a range of disabilities, including physical, intellectual and psychosocial needs
• Assisting clients with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks
• Facilitating social and recreational activities to promote client engagement and community inclusion
• Advocating for client needs and collaborating with allied health professionals to ensure holistic care
• Maintaining accurate records and documentation in line with organisational policies and procedures

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working in the disability or aged care sectors, with a strong understanding of the NDIS and person-centred support
• Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent qualification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
• Demonstrated empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals with disabilities
• A current driver's licence and own reliable vehicle
