The minimum starting remuneration for this position (salary plus loading) is $85,959 per annum, increasing each year of successful service to $92,163

Broome Residential College are seeking to establish a pool of Boarding Supervisors - Active Night Duty for permanent and fixed term, full-time and part-time vacancies which may arise during 2025 and up to the end of April 2026. Appointments may be offered at any time for vacancies that commence during this period.

The Role

Suitable applicants will support and reinforce appropriate values and behaviours of students, and supervise students, fulfilling duty of care requirements in line with Department policy. They will respect and embrace diversity within the student population, and provide and supervise opportunities which support the academic, social, emotional, and physical development of students.

Suitable applicants will be responsible for maintaining regular communication with colleagues, parents, school staff and others involved in supporting student development and wellbeing and attending college functions and promotion activities as required by the College Manager, including award presentations, special events, orientation and open days, regional field days and agricultural shows. Suitable applicants should be comfortable working at night alone. Take the initiative, be adaptable, helpful, proactive and approachable.

Positions filled from this process will be for night shift.

Eligibility

To work with us, you must:

  • be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with relevant work rights for the term of the appointment.
  • consent to a National Criminal History Check with the Department's Screening Unit.
  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check if required
  • work according to rostered hours which may include nights, weekends and public holidays;
  • obtain (prior to first rostered shift working with students) and maintain a current:
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide CPR (HLTAID009); and
  • First Aid Certificate – Provide First Aid (HLTAID011);
  • within six months of commencement of employment obtain and maintain a current:
  • LR Class Driver’s Licence and a Passenger Transport Driver (PTD) authorisation;
  • Aquatic Rescue for Group III Pool Award*; and
  • Surf Rescue Certificate*;
  • obtain a Certificate IV in Community Services – Student Residential Care (CHC42021) within six months of commencement of employment.

* Dependent on operational requirements as determined by College Manager.

  3. Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills, written and oral communication skills, with the ability to write plans, pastoral notes and reports; and interact positively with students and parents including those with diverse multicultural backgrounds.
  4. Demonstrated organisational skills and ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.
  5. Demonstrated capacity to successfully meet and maintain the required eligibility and training requirements of this position.
