The Opportunity

This newly created full-time position is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate professional Counsellor / Advocate to join our dedicated Not-For-Profit organisation in Swan Hill.

Operating within the Sexual Assault & Therapeutic Services Team, this role is primarily responsible for the provision counselling, advocacy and therapeutic support to adults, young people and children who have experience sexual assault and their non-offending family members.

Key responsibilities for this role include:

Deliver high quality, inclusive and flexible counselling, advocacy and/or therapeutic support including client engagement, intake and assessment, case planning, intervention, review and case closure to victim survivors of sexual assault.

Engage with victim survivors and their families to deliver ‘evidence based’ person-directed support.

Support victim survivors to identify short and long term goals through effective case planning.

Uphold the values of respect, integrity, collaboration, care, accountability and innovation.

Follow the current and relevant standards of practice and legislation.

Perform intake and recall from time to time.

About you

You bring your experience in delivering trauma informed case management and/or counselling and have a high level of interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with people to build trusting therapeutic relationships.

You are a self-motivated, diligent individual who can action tasks independently and can work positively in a team to ensure integrated care for your clients.

Your specialist expertise and experience should include:

Bachelor of Social Work and/or the equivalent.

The Mallee Sexual Assault Unit (MSAU) and Mallee Domestic Violence Services (MDVS) provides services for women, men and children throughout the Northern and Southern Mallee region, border communities of New South Wales, the Mallee Track and Shires of Gannawarra and Buloke.
