About Centrecare

The Role
Commitment to strengthening social and emotional wellbeing of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The Indigenous Advancement Strategy program aims to develop strong, healthy and resilient individuals, families and communities which will enhance pathways to education and employment and reduce substance abuse, violence and contact with the criminal justice system.
A Few Specifics
Complete intake and assessment of families and children to identify needs.
- Develop support plans with the client which identify individual goals.
- Provide practical supports and referrals to appropriate services.
- Assist with the development of family camps, women’s groups and youth groups.
- Plan and participate in community events.
- Assist to write six monthly reports as directed by Program Manager.
About You
- Recognised tertiary qualifications in Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Social Work, Mental Health Nursing or Aboriginal Health Work.
- Experience and knowledge working with Aboriginal individuals, families and communities.
- Experience in administration and case management.
- Experience living and working in a remote / regional community.
- Exhibit a client-centered, conscientious care approach.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- National Police Certificate.
