Readings is an independent retailer of books, music and more, and has long been at the centre of Melbourne’s local literary scene, with a busy e-commerce website and eight bricks and mortar shops operating in Melbourne. Readings was awarded Book Retailer of the Year at the 2021 Australian Book Industry Awards.

We are looking for a reliable warehouse receiver and delivery driver to work 2-3 days a week on a casual basis with an opportunity to convert to permanent employment within 3 months. The incumbent is responsible for processing incoming and outgoing inventory, coordinating stock movements, and ensuring efficient local deliveries between our warehouse and stores.

The ideal applicant will have demonstrated:

Receive, unpack, and process stock in our system.

Pack and prepare outgoing orders for delivery.

Deliver and pick up stock between stores efficiently and safely.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries and stock movements.

Follow all OH&S and safe manual handling practices.

What We’re Looking For (selection criteria):

A valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Experience in stock handling, warehousing, or delivery driving.

Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.

Knowledge of OH&S regulations in a warehouse setting.

Note: This role is not suitable for truck drivers or long-haul drivers. Deliveries are within a 50km radius, with multiple stops per day, and you’ll return to the head office daily. Expect to be on the road for most of your shift, with regular loading and unloading.
