About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Process Shift Operator to join our team at Tronox’s Kwinana Pigment Plant.

A Process Shift Operator is responsible for overseeing and managing the operation of manufacturing processes during a specific shift. They ensure that production runs smoothly, safely, and efficiently while meeting quality standards and production targets

The Shift Operator will work a 12 hour Day / Night Shifts on a Sportsman roster. 2D2N 5 days off / 2D3N 4days off / 3D2N 5 days off

Key responsibilities of the Process Operator

Monitor and control plant processes and equipment to maintain optimal operation and adherence to standard procedures.

Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain process equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.

Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure products meet specifications and quality standards.

Adhere to safety protocols and regulations, conduct safety inspections, and respond to safety incidents or emergencies.

Coordinate with production supervisors and planners to prioritize production schedules and optimize output.

Maintain accurate records of production activities, process parameters, and equipment maintenance tasks.

Identify and troubleshoot process issues, equipment malfunctions, and production bottlenecks.

Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency improvements initiatives. Actively participate in continuous improvement projects and initiatives.

The Ideal candidate will demonstrate

Mechanical Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience with tools and equipment for routine maintenance tasks and minor repairs.

Technical Aptitude: Previous experience in operating, maintaining and monitoring process equipment (experience with control systems advantageous)

Problem-solving Abilities: Aptitude for identifying and resolving process issues, troubleshooting equipment malfunctions, and implementing corrective actions.

Safety Consciousness: Competent in the usage of JHAs, Step Back 2x2 / Take 5s, along with a commitment to maintaining a safe working environment.

Attention to Detail: Ability follow Standard Operating Procedures, to ensure product quality and correct usage of equipment.

Teamwork and Communication: Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing production requirements, priorities, and schedules, and willingness to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Upskilling: Have capacity and desire to participate in ongoing training, developing skills and experience

Have unrestricted working rights within Australia, (Sponsorship and visa’s with restrictions are not available)

Live within 45 mins from Kwinana, due to the 12 hour shifts.
