Our client within the government sector is seeking a Senior Information Officer (Data Analyst) to join their Infrastructure Operations team. This role is pivotal in collecting, analyzing, and presenting data to drive performance measurement, decision-making, and reporting across the department. BRISBANE BASED

The Role

As a Senior Information Officer (Data Analyst), you will be responsible for:

• Collecting, analyzing, and presenting performance measurement data for both internal and external clients.
• Collaborating with stakeholders to support evidence-based decision-making and policy development.
• Utilizing Power BI and other analytical tools to manipulate data and create meaningful insights.

Your other responsibilities will include:

• Designing and developing audience-centric reports and dashboards that effectively communicate data trends.
• Working within a team focused on emerging data expertise, contributing innovative ideas.
• Reporting to the Principal Advisor, Office of the Executive Director, Infrastructure Operations.

About You

In order to be a successful applicant, you will:

• Have strong analytical and data manipulation skills, with the ability to translate data into compelling narratives.
• Possess experience with Power BI, including DAX formulas, Power Query, and semantic model design.
• Demonstrate advanced Excel skills and familiarity with working with datasets in Excel or CSV format.

You will also have:

• A collaborative approach with the ability to work within a team and engage stakeholders effectively.
• Experience or knowledge of SQL Server (desirable but not essential).
• A strategic mindset with the ability to lead change and make informed, ethical decisions in complex environments.
• Ideally have worked in Queensland government.
