About the Role

As a Governance Advisor, you will work closely with the CEO to oversee the Council’s governance responsibilities. Your key duties include:

Developing, monitoring, and maintaining the Council's governance and risk management framework.

Coordinating governance training for Councilors and Local Authority Members.

Ensuring compliance with the NT Local Government Act 2019 and other legislative requirements.

This role offers opportunities for professional growth while contributing to the integrity and effectiveness of local government processes.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking candidates with:

Demonstrated experience in governance and integrity matters within local government or the public sector.

Strong knowledge of the NT Local Government Act 2019.

Excellent communication skills and policy drafting expertise.

A commitment to ethical practices and confidentiality.

Appreciation of Indigenous culture and experience working in remote communities.
