Truck Driver Role - Bennetts Green

Complete Reo is a steel merchant and reinforcement manufacturing business that supplies directly to builders, concreters and civil / commercial projects.

The primary role on offer is driving our semi between Newcastle and our regional branches in Orange and Dubbo. However, it will also involve driving our MR and HR truck for local deliveries in the hunter region.

The truck driver we select for the role will need to be willing to participate in other areas of the business between deliveries. If you are looking for a position that is "just truck driving" you are not right for this role.

The successful applicant can enjoy our late model fleet of Kenworths and Isuzu's.

ROLE OBJECTIVE:

The ultimate objective of the staff in the warehouse / truck drivers is to work together to get orders out to customers on time, every time.

Make our customers happy with exceptional service.

Have a team attitude, as the successful applicant will spend time in the Newcastle branch, as well as travelling to our Dubbo and Orange branches for stock transfers.

Achieve the above objectives while keeping safety in mind.

HC Truck Licence

Hiab experience preferable, but not essential.

Forklift licence is preferable.

Dogging ticket preferred.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES -

Truck Driving

Check off loaded vehicle to ensure accuracy to prevent re-delivery.

Optimise efficiency by pre-planning the most direct or efficient route.

Load similar location loads together for increased efficiency.

Plan the delivery sequence for loads with multiple drops.

Ensure you have a site contact phone number for each delivery prior to leaving Complete Reo.

Arrive to each location on time, call the delivery contact if you are running late or require more specific delivery instructions.

Follow road rules at all times including vehicle inspections and speed limits.

Professional and friendly interactions with customers. If there is someone onsite, greet them and ask them where they'd like the load placed.

Optimise your time on site by using the hiab to unload. Use the hiab effectively by referring to the weight capacity diagram.

Perform deliveries in reasonable time frames while maintaining safe conduct at all times.

Maintenance of National Driver Log Book

As often as possible have the trucks refuelled in the afternoons so that they are ready for the morning deliveries.

Keep the vehicles clean and tidy. When time permits clean the vehicles during any downtime though the week, quiet days (rain days).

Report any maintenance issues to the warehouse manager.

Warehouse Duties (between deliveries in the truck):

We are seeking a candidate who is willing to assist in the warehouse during downtime between deliveries, this will be infrequent, however, it is necessary to note that we are looking for someone who has drive and willingness to assist where necessary.

We tend to rotate our semi drivers for fatigue management, so there will be work driving our MR and HR truck in the local Newcastle district between deliveries.

Generally working as a team, if another team member needs some assistance in their area, lend a hand.

Perform all set tasks with safety in mind.

Hours:

5:30am - 2:00pm Monday to Friday (there will be frequent opportunity for paid overtime in this position)

Remuneration:

$31.00 / hour base rate, overtime is paid at the correct statutory rates + superannuation
