The Role: Co-Educator

Part-time position working up to 75hours per fortnight

Position available to start ASAP

Rotating shifts between 7:30am and 6:15pm, currently keeping the same shift for 2 months

The terms and conditions of employment are those applying under the Professional Childcare Standard 2021 in conjunction with the National Employment Standards.

About us

Monash Caulfield Child Care Centre (MCCC) is a not for profit, community based early childhood education centre. We are committed to providing high quality child care for children of staff and students at Monash University, as well as community members. We provide child care for children from birth to school aged including an integrated 3 & 4 year old Kindergarten Program. Our centre has been operating for over 30 years. We are registered with the Department of Education & Training as a 50 place Long Day Care Centre. MCCC is sponsored and supported by Monash University. We focus on building positive and collaborative partnerships with families and providing a nurturing learning environment for children. We encourage family involvement and our aim is to build trusting relationships between educators, children and parents. We strive to create a welcoming, caring and supported environment where families and children can establish a sense of belonging to our community.

Qualifications & experience

A Diploma in Children's Services / Certificate III in Early Childhood or equivalent ACECQA approved qualification

Have a sound knowledge of and experience with implementing the Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and Child Safety Standard

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with families, children and other staff members

Diploma educators will have experience contributing to program and planning demonstrating confidence implementing the EYLF V.2, guiding & leading the team when the Team Leader is on leave and will confidently understand and take on the responsibilities of a Responsible Person when required.

Current Working with Children's Check

Current Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Anaphylaxis & Asthma Certificate

Current Mandatory Reporting training and deep understanding of responsibilities under the Reportable Conduct Scheme

Tasks & responsibilities

Assist in the planning, implementation, assessment and review of high quality and diverse educational program based on appropriate curriculum frameworks and with reference to the NQS, considering the developmental needs, interests and abilities of all the children attending the service.

Utilise a variety of teaching strategies including intentional teaching and reflective practice in daily work.

Assist in the promotion of health, wellbeing and physical exercise in the service.

Develop and maintain respectful, supportive, collaborative and responsive relationships with children and their families.

Ensure all practices are in accordance with the NQS and reflect the philosophy, policies and procedures of the service.

Understanding of the National Quality Framework and Standards, the service philosophy of Education and Care along with the National Early Years Learning Framework and committed
