We are looking for a local Student Placement Officer to join our Cairns team. Work experience gives young people a valuable and rewarding insight into their future career path. VPG have been coordinating student placements for Far North Queensland Schools for 24 years, partnering with over 5,000 local employers.

One week of meaningful and worthwhile work experience can make a lifetime’s difference. Through building strong relationships with employers, you create quality work placement opportunities and match them to our partnered school students.
Your Everyday:
Some of the best elements of this role include:
Interacting with school students through workshops, interviews and placements sessions.
Building relationships with employers over the phone or online, to find opportunities for work experience
Working with School Coordinators to deliver the best possible placement program.
Engaging with community stakeholders in person, over the phone or online
Contributing to the continuous improvement of our VPG culture that promotes a compassionate, generous, inclusive, responsible work environment.
Laughing – We like to have fun at VPG
Who are you?
You have genuine enthusiasm for helping young people commence their career exploration.
You are proud to deliver outstanding service in a positive and solution driven manner.
You genuinely enjoy communicating with stakeholders usually via phone, building relationships and have the ability to positively influence and negotiate.
You are highly motivated and thrive in a ‘sales through service’ environment.
You align strongly with our organisational values and seek to work for a ‘for purpose’ community organisation.
You have very strong computer competency across Microsoft applications.
You have a QLD Working with Children Blue Card and a QLD Drivers Licence.
