About the Opportunities

We are excited to announce temporary and ongoing openings for multiple Recruitment Support Officer - Clerk Grade 3/4 positions, within our newly established operating model in School Recruitment.

We welcome applications from individuals who are experienced in and enthusiastic about providing administrative support within the recruitment process for school-based roles. From this recruitment process, a talent pool will be created to fill both temporary and ongoing Recruitment Support Officer - Clerk Grade 3/4 positions across the School Workforce Directorate.

About the role

As a Recruitment Support Officer, you will provide comprehensive administrative services that support the recruitment process for school-based roles. Your responsibilities will include managing multiple tasks simultaneously, processing recruitment files, coordinating with stakeholders, and providing general administrative assistance. A key part of the role will involve handling a high volume of phone enquiries, where you'll be expected to respond promptly while managing competing tasks and deadlines. In addition, you will assist employees in navigating recruitment-related policies, processes, and procedures, addressing enquiries about permanent employment, transferring to different roles, and applying for new positions.

About you

To be successful, you will:

  • Possess strong time management and multitasking skills: You'll need to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment, managing multiple priorities, and meeting tight deadlines. This includes answering a high volume of calls daily.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and customer service skills: You'll interact with a variety of stakeholders, requiring clear communication and a high level of customer service.
  • Have a keen eye for detail: Accuracy is crucial when processing recruitment files and managing data and information, especially when juggling multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Be adaptable and proactive: You should be able to respond flexibly to changing requirements and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Build and sustain relationships: You'll work closely with a wide range of stakeholders, from school communities to internal teams, and need to foster positive relationships.

Essential requirements, experience and knowledge

  • Experience in operating in a Human Resource function in a government agency or commercial enterprise.
  • Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
  • Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department's Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department's Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
