Machinery Operator/ Farm Hand

Bothwell, Tasmania – 1 Hour from Hobart

We are seeking a motivated person to join our team at Ramsay Agriculture. The job will entail working across all areas of Ratho. There is 550 ha of pivot and linear irrigation. We are growing carrot seed, poppies, pyrethrum cereals and potatoes. With potatoes being our primary enterprise.

The role requires you to operate machinery (discs, rock pickers, potato planters, etc.) and help with irrigation throughout the summer periods. Stock work would be available too for the right applicant.

A house is available, or this role would be suitable for someone to travel.

Essential:

Current drivers license

Strong work ethic

Ability to work with direction, autonomously and as a team member

Ability to work the hours needed, including weekends during busy periods

Willingness to use technology (agriwebb, remote irrigation apps, planning apps)

Motivation to work in agriculture long term

Desirable:

Tractor driving experience

Fencing experience

Irrigation experience

Sheep experience
