Our customer is a food manufacturing business that, for 30 years has specialised in, but is not limited to, producing crumbed chicken products for the local and national market. Located south of the river, they are committed to their people, their products and their customers. They are looking for an experienced Line Leader or Machine Operator to join their team on a full-time basis.

What Your Day May Look Like

Reporting to the Production Supervisor / Manager you will be trained and then expected to operate food production equipment to produce crumbed chicken and other food products, based on the production schedule provided to you. You may be working on the same production equipment daily. This equipment may include crumbing, frying, portioning, conveyors and other food production line equipment. It will also include, set up, changeover, replenishment, breakdown and cleaning of various equipment. You will be expected to meet production targets while maintaining and promoting the highest OHS&E standards at all times.

Here's the Specific Duties of This Role:

• Ensuring production, monitoring and OH&S protocols are maintained to the highest standard at all times.
• Operating food production equipment in a food manufacturing environment.
• Effective operation of a small production line.
• Leading a small team.
• Reporting to Production Supervisor / Production Manager / Operations Manager on any production line issues and the condition of production equipment used.
• Achieving production targets and KPI’s.
• Assisting with adhoc duties as required by the business.

Who We’re Looking For

You will have recent experience working in food manufacturing, operating food manufacturing equipment and leading a production line. You will have experience working with a small food production team. Ideally, you’ll have experience leading a small production line and team. Experience working in meat or high-risk food processing will also be highly regarded, as would experience serving major retailers and understanding their quality requirements. You’ll Be the Perfect Candidate If You Have:

• Experience as a machine operator in a food manufacturing and/or meat processing environment including the daily use of industrial food manufacturing equipment.
• Experience in the effective operation of a small production line.
• Experience in leading a small team to achieve production targets and KPI’s.
• A thorough understanding of workplace OHS&E standards in a food environment.
• A good understanding of major retailers and their quality requirements.
• Full Australian working rights with no restrictions.
• Physically fit and able to undertake all duties of the role.
• Great communication skills.
• The ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to prioritise, problem solve and multitask.
• Ability to follow policies, processes and procedures.
