MND Equipment Service Driver and Maintenance Officer

Based in Ringwood, Melbourne

MND Victoria is dedicated to providing the best possible support for people living with motor neurone disease (MND). We have an extensive library of assistive technology (disability equipment) which is loaned to people with MND across the state of Victoria.

We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in a varied and essential role that combines both cleaning/maintenance and delivery/collection of assistive technology, such as electric beds and wheelchairs. This role will involve cleaning and conducting basic maintenance on equipment and assisting with deliveries and collections supporting the overall efficiency of our warehouse operations. Training about the equipment, and its proper handling will be provided.

The successful applicant will have:

  1. A current driver’s licence and ability to safely drive a small van (car licence) to deliver assistive technology across Victoria
  2. An ability to handle and work safely with a variety of assistive technology (or learn how to!)
  3. Knowledge of safe work practices.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal communication skills and be a great team player
  5. A “can do”, flexible approach
  6. A Certificate III in Electrical Engineering and/or Electrical Test and Tag Certification (desirable but not essential)

Key Selection Criteria:

Essential

  • Current Australian driver's license.
  • Be competent in route planning, utilising electronic maps and other relevant technology (e.g. Routific)
  • Capability and capacity to safely drive a van (car license) to deliver to areas anywhere in the state.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the role of an Equipment Delivery and Maintenance Officer
  • Demonstrated direct experience of cleaning and maintaining non electronic items of assistive technology or be able to demonstrate clear understanding of what is involved.
  • Capability to manually handle items of assistive technology, utilising relevant tools such as trolleys and ramps to assist with safe manual handling.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Demonstrated prioritising, time management and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage competing work tasks and work effectively to deadlines.
  • Demonstrated developed computer skills and understanding of electronic databases.
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A “can do approach” demonstrating flexibility in approaching work priorities
  • Ability to handle and work safely with a variety of assistive technology.
  • Knowledge of safe work practices.

Desirable

  • Demonstrated commitment to working with people living with a progressive degenerative neurological disease.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with equipment suppliers and service providers.
  • Knowledge of or interest in learning about assistive technology
  • Demonstrated administration experience and skills w in using Salesforce CRM.
  • Electrical Test and Tag certification.
