About the role:

We have an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Stores Officer to join our Maintenance team. This role will assist in maintaining inventory levels and procuring spare parts from suppliers as well as setting up a system and process to track inventory, stock control and stock locations.

The role is based at our Wetherill Park site reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The pay rate on offer is between $35 - $45 per hour based on experience.

*A forklift license is preferred but not required.

Key responsibilities and duties:

• Coordinate the Engineering stores, purchasing and receiving functions
• Organisation and maintenance of stores, it’s inventory and system
• Control all aspects of the stores and its systems including housekeeping and 5S
• Gain prices and parts from suppliers to meet deadlines within the department as set by the business
• Seek opportunities to minimise the number of vendors we deal with on a regular basis
• Ensure that store information in MEX (Maintenance Management System) is accurate and up to date in terms of preferred vendors, inventory naming convention and pricing
• Coordinate with external contractors to support the annual review of service agreement
• Monitor compliance to supply agreements and seek opportunities to improve purchasing/stores opportunities
• Oversee and lead maintenance stores stocktakes and set up processes and count sheets for team personnel to count inventory, verification/reconciliation recounts and oversee the reconciliation of any adjustments required in MEX

About you and your skills:

• Previous experience within FMCG/ Food Manufacturing production environment preferred
• Problem solving and decision-making ability when sourcing multiple channels for spare parts
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and deal with shifting priorities
• Be customer focused (internal and external)
• Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels within the organisation
• Intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills
• Basic inventory accounting principles
• Previous trades background is desirable
• Ability to work independently and in a team
• Good time management and organisational skills
• Forklift licence would be advantageous
