EPSA is seeking an Excavator Fitter to be employed by the company on a full-time permanent basis. Our Fleet consists of 90% new vehicle. You will carry out repairs and maintenance on mobile and fixed plant in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications, working within a high performing team. Lifestyle:

As the Excavator Fitter, you will work a 7/7 roster, rotating days and nights, 10.5 hour shifts. You will be based on site at the Commodore Mine in Millmerran, Queensland.

Our preference goes to recruiting local candidates as no accommodation is provided.

About the role:

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will:

• Utilise your skills to assist in breakdowns, planned maintenance and servicing of the fleet.
• Undertake repairs and servicing in accordance with manufacturer’s specifications and / or EPSA requirements.
• Work effectively with the workshop maintenance crews to achieve the maintenance plan.
• Work to priorities as advised by Maintenance Supervisors.
• Ensure all maintenance repairs are performed in accordance with company guidelines and within cost targets.

To be successful you will have:

• Current Standard 11.
• Current QLD Coal Mine Workers Health Scheme Assessment, or willingness to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical.
• Current Australian driver’s licence (mandatory).
• Current Working at Heights certification.
• Current Working in Confined Space certification.
• Experience with Hitachi (EX3600-7 & EX5600-7) and Liebherr (9350 & 006B) desirable
• Strong diagnostic, trouble shooting
• Trade qualifications with extensive experience in the maintenance of mining plant and equipment.
• Experience in heavy earthmoving maintenance including large excavators, off highway trucks, production loaders and dozers, blast hole drill rigs and mining ancillary equipment.
• Experience in welding, fault finding and field fitting and a working understanding of low voltage electrical systems (24Volt automotive).
• Sound mechanical aptitude and reasoning.
• Demonstrated positive safety leadership skills and safety behaviour.
