Fitters – Flange Management – SHUTDOWNS - Casual

UGL Services, Fuels & Energy East are currently seeking Expressions of Interest from highly skilled and safety focused Flange Management Specialists with a proven background in tensioning to join our casual shutdown / turnaround team.

About You

The following skillsets / qualifications are key components of these positions:

• Australian Recognised Cert III – Mechanical Fitter, Fitter / Machinist
• Flange Management certificate (Hydratight / BLJ / 3+FM or similar)
• Hydratight: HT10, 18 & 19 Bolted Joint Integrity – hand torque, hydraulic torque & hydraulic tensioning (Topside)
• ECITB TMJI 10, 18 & 19 Mechanical Joint Integrity - hand torque, hydraulic torque & hydraulic tensioning (Topside)
• Company inhouse flange management training including tensioning Level 3
• Construction Induction
• Confined Space current within 2 years
• Work at Heights current within 2 years
• Gas Test Atmospheres within 2 years – mandatory requirement for site
• High Risk Work Licence – WP preferred
• Drivers Licence

Proven experience in the following will be highly regarded:

• Shall have a minimum of 3 years’ frequent bolting work or 5 years of infrequent bolting work using hydraulic torque and tension on work scopes
• Experience of flange machining is preferred but not essential

Core duties will see you working across the following key area’s (not complete list of all expected duties):

• Comply site specific procedures
• Adhere to site specific workplace health & safety requirements
• Be a lead person on ASME B16.5 and B16.47 joints, compact flanges and clamp connectors and nonstandard joints, such as; Heat Exchanger joints, joints connected to rotating equipment and nonstandard designed connections
• Identification of correct and calibrated tooling to perform bolting activities
• Correctly and safely disassemble, assemble, and torque or tension tighten bolted joints
• Assist with inspection and reporting of gasket contact flange faces
• Complete site-specific documentation for recording bolting activities
