Role Details
The Department for Child Protection (DCP) is seeking a Senior Strategic Adviser to join on a full-time ongoing basis.

The role is responsible for:

  • Providing specialist and strategic advice on a range of matters relevant to the Child Protection portfolio.
  • Exercising a significant level of independent judgement to monitor complex and sensitive matters and proactively provide comprehensive analysis and feedback to the Chief Executive and Deputy Chief Executive.
  • Leading the review and evaluation of existing policies, standards and practices across the department and identify areas for improvement.
  • Delivering high quality project and business outcomes as directed by the Deputy Chief Executive.

About You
We are looking for an expert in providing detailed policy and legislative advice on a range of matters.

To be successful in this role you will be a strong critical thinker with significant analysis skills, capable of devising and implementing practical solutions on complex and sensitive issues.

You will bring your excellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively engage with a variety of key stakeholder, write detailed reports and briefings, and conduct successful negotiations.

A keen understanding of the Child Protection portfolio, policy and legislation is ideal, as well as demonstrated experience in handling critical confidential material with tact and diplomacy.

Special Conditions
