Located in Glebe, Watermark Services Group is a hydraulic consultancy firm which specialises in forensic hydraulic assessments, hydraulic design engineering, remedial work management and expert witness legal assessments. Our growing team of highly experienced consultants are looking for an experienced plumber who can assist with onsite investigations and is willing to further develop their plumbing knowledge & office skills to ultimately also become an experienced hydraulic consultant. The successful candidate will be provided with training to further develop their plumbing industry knowledge and the support needed to progress their career in hydraulic consultancy. The successful candidate will be a valued member of our team, working 5 days a week with fun, down-to-earth and inclusive people.
About the Role
The role is varied, with responsibilities ranging from assisting consultants with onsite investigations through to office-based works, completing reports or repair work designs. Tasks may include:
- Assisting with or undertaking defect investigations or service mapping;
- Completing CCTV investigations and surveys of stormwater and sanitary services;
- Facilitating and assisting with at heights roof inspections;
- Completing pressure and flow testing / logging of hydraulic services;
- Undertaking temperature logging and checking flow balancing on heated water services;
- Maintaining investigation equipment;
- Compiling service location & service failure diagrammatic plans;
- Compiling photographic reports depicting onsite investigations;
- Researching background information to assist in assessment and report preparation;
- Coordinating and assisting with production of detailed reports, photographic reports, sketch plans and fee proposals;
- General office duties including: emails; report and design preparation.
Who we are looking for
Candidates who demonstrate the following experience will be looked upon favourably:
- Ability to coordinate, plan, prioritise, multitask, whilst being adaptable;
- A can-do attitude;
- Ability to work independently;
- A working understanding of the Microsoft Office product suite, in particular Word and Outlook;
- Highly developed communication skills (written and verbal), with exceptional attention to detail;
- Certificate IV in plumbing;
- Six years’ experience working as a plumber;
- Drivers licence;
- Working at heights certificate (not essential but preferred);
- Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design (not essential but favorable).

Are you interested in ultimately getting off the tools and becoming a hydraulic consultant? If so, would you be willing to complete further training in the future to increase your hydraulic services knowledge or have you completed / commenced the Diploma of Hydraulic Services Design?
Do you have a reasonable understanding of the current plumbing industry regulations and standards? If yes, could you please provide your opinion on each of the following:
- What is the name of the ‘Act’ that governs plumbing installations in NSW?
- What is the name of the ‘Regulation’ being the instrument for governing plumbing installations in NSW?
- What is the purpose of the National Construction Code Volume Three?
- What are the Australian Standards that cover the design and installation requirements for sewer, water, hot water, stormwater & gas?
