About the company
Our client, who is a primary research funding agency of the Australian Government is seeking a Governance Officer who will work within the Governance and Corporate Reporting team responsible for ensuring the Governance, risk management and internal audit frameworks are effective and efficient.
About the roleThe Governance and Corporate Reporting Section is responsible for managing and delivering a range of corporate reporting and governance requirements, including:
- Corporate reporting including the development and coordination of the Corporate plan, Annual Report, Annual performance and portfolio budget statements, Branch Plans and operational reports
- Internal audit program and the Audit and Risk Committee
- Risk management, fraud and corruption control, integrity, and conflicts of interest
Duties of the role
- Coordinating and drafting of the annual report, corporate plan, operational report, and annual performance statements
- Assisting with the development and administration of performance measures
- Providing high quality advice and preparing complex written briefings and reports
- Coordinating risk reviews and reporting and working with internal auditors
- Secretariat support for committees
Skills & experience
- The ability to lead and successfully manage projects
- Proven ability to deliver clear, well written documents
- Excellent judgement, strong attention to detail and an ability to manage multiple priorities
- High level relationship management skills, with the ability to build and sustain strong networks and relationships
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to collate and interpret complex information
